The British Classic Yacht Club is delighted to announce that leading private banking specialist EFG International will be a Gold sponsor partner of Panerai British Classic Week 2013, which takes place from 6 to 13 July at Cowes Yacht Haven. Now firmly established as one of the highlights of the British yachting season, this annual event attracts competitors from around the world for a weeklong celebration that is to the sailing fraternity what Goodwood Revival is to classic car lovers.
Announcing the new partnership, British Classic Yacht Club Rear Commodore David Orton said, "I am delighted that EFG [International] has accepted our invitation to become a Gold sponsor of our Panerai British Classic Week. The British Classic Yacht Club, and EFG have aspirations in common. Both value personal relationships very highly, and both set themselves, in different fields, high ethical standards. I hope that the personnel and clients of EFG who see the racing in Cowes of our beautiful, historic yachts will take away great memories, and that we together build on that experience to create a long term partnership."
EFG International's support of sailing is long established through their sponsorship of events as diverse as BACARDI Miami Sailing Week and Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta, which is also part of the global Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge series.
Speaking about the new partnership Keith Gapp, Head of Strategy and Marketing, EFG International, commented,"EFG International is an active supporter of sailing around the world. We are extremely pleased to be supporting the Panerai British Classic Week on several counts: to be in Cowes, a sailing mecca; to be alongside Panerai - with whom we work in Antigua - given everything they have done for classic sailing over the years; and, of course, the prospect of some of the most beautiful boats in the world!"
Panerai British Classic Week opens at noon on Saturday 6 July with yachts arriving into Cowes Yacht Haven throughout that afternoon. Sunday 7 July features the Panerai Around The Island Race and from Monday 8 to Friday 12 July there will be daily racing in the Solent. The regatta closes on Saturday 13 July with a Parade of Sail past the Royal Yacht Squadron.
